As you can see from this image, a passenger paid one shilling and ten (old) pence (1s 10d) for a train journey, including porterage, in 1837. This is in "old money", which was abolished in 1972 when decimal currency was introduced in Britain. How much is 1s 10d in decimal currency, to the nearest whole penny? (Hint: in old money there were 12 pence to the shilling and 20 shiilings to the pound)
